The
43-year-old actress appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show to took to promote her
second book The Longevity Book, and revealed some home-truths about
married life.
“I do think that marriage, when you can grow
with someone, it’s very important,” she said on the show.
“Someone asked
me, ‘What’s your favourite thing about being married?’ and I said, ‘I just
learned so much about myself. I didn’t know these things. I would have never
known them if I didn’t have my husband to help me.’” She admitted the
revelation was always a good thing.
“They said,
‘What’s the worst thing about being married?’” Diaz continued.
“’Well, I
learned all these things about myself that I wish I didn’t know. And I wouldn’t
have learned them if I didn’t get married.’ “So it is like this
double-edged-sword. But I am so grateful for it.”
It isn’t
the first time the actress has shown how smitten she is for her hubby Madden,
having written the rocker a dedication in the preface of her self-help book.
“I never knew
what love was until I found you,” the preface reads.
“How did I ever
live without your love, your friendship, your brilliant mind, your genius sense
of humour, and your enormous, loving, beautiful heart?”
“Thank you for being my best friend, my teacher, my partner in life. You
inspire me every day with your courage and devotion. Thank you for all the
support and encouragement in this book and everything in life. I love you
forever and ever.”
The Longevity Book is the follow-up to The Body Book, which the
actress released in 2013.
