Family Guy did a spoof of Donald Trump, and his fans are furious

Family Guy isn't exactly known for pulling its punches when it comes to parodies of celebrities.

They created a caricature of Donald Trump ahead of the Emmys, in order to promote their show.
The show's creators released an image of their main character, Peter Griffin, with Wotsit-coloured skin and ridiculous hair.
He is captioned: “As long as we’re voting for loud dumbmouths, can I get an Emmy?”
This is obviously a subtle dig at the Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
Even though Donald Trump isn't afraid to air his views about people he dislikes, which is a reason many of his fans support him, Trump supporters were very unhappy about the spoof.
Some even vowed never to watch Family Guy again.
“Years of watching every episode of Family Guy, no more,” one comment said.
“Seth McFarlane needs to stop trying to shove his political views down our throat [sic],” said another. “It’s idiots like him who are trying their best to destroy this country.”
One person said on their Facebook page: "Years of watching every episode of family guy, no more".
Another vented: "Family guy has been slowly going down hill the last couple seasons , this may be there [sic] swan song !!!"
Many of the comments on their Facebook page are in a similar vein.
Some people had a different view, however:
Donald Trump is now the candidate for Republican nominee after his running mates dropped out of the race.
Hillary Clinton is now exploiting this, by starting a 'Republicans for Hillary' group.
“I invite a lot of Republicans and independents who I’ve been seeing on the campaign trail, who’ve been reaching out to me, I invite them to join with Democrats,” Mrs. Clinton said in an interview with CNN. “Let’s get off the red [Republican] or the blue [Democrat] team. Let’s get on the American team.”
This comes as a succession of senior Republicans have said they cannot support Mr Trump even if they cannot bring themselves to vote for Mrs Clinton.
