From Ramsay Bolton to Daenerys: how Game of Thrones' characters look in the show vs how they look in the books

Who? Daenerys Stormborn, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains…Collector of Epithets. One of the only surviving member of the Targaryen family, who used to rule Westeros. Daenerys begins the series as a timid teenager, who has known nothing other than her life in exile, but grows over the series to become a charismatic leader and emancipator of slaves.

Played by? Emilia Clarke
What should she look like? Rumours of Daenerys’s striking beauty have spread far and wide in the Game of Thrones universe. According to George RR Martin’s text she has silver-blonde hair and purple eyes. She spends most of A Clash of Kings wandering around the desert completely bald after her hair was burned off entering the funeral pyre of her late husband Khal Drogo.
How accurate is the show? Daenerys in the TV show has the same silver-blonde hair, is undeniably beautiful — but she’s lacking the violet eyes of the novel. Also, after she enters Drogo’s blazing funeral pyre and her dragons hatch, Daenerys’s glorious mane remains intact.
