An
American student who exposed himself while posing for a yearbook photograph has
been jailed and is facing charges of indecent exposure.
Hunter Osborn, a
19-year-old American football player at Red Mountain High School in Arizona,
said he was dared to carry out the tasteless stunt by his teammates.
His antics initially went unnoticed
- the image was printed in the school yearbook and seen by more than 250
students before staff realised what had happened.
"Luckily, most of the
yearbooks were still in their boxes," school spokeswoman Helen Hollands
said.
According
to court documents seen by ABC Arizona, the teenager "exposed
his penis through the top of his waistband of his football uniform pants."
"He was
dared by a football teammate," according to Steve Berry, a spokesman
for the Mesa Police Department.
A total of 69
people - 59 students aged 15-19 and ten members of staff - were present when
he exposed himself.
It
has led to Osborn facing 69 charges of indecent exposure and one
charge of "furnishing harmful items to minors."
The
prank has divided public opinion in Arizona, with some students telling
local media they believe school overreacted.
