NEW YORK (AP) Atlanta pitcher Alger Hodgson has been
suspended 72 games under baseball's minor league drug program and San Francisco
pitcher David Graybill has been banned 50 games.
Hodgson tested positive for
metabolites of Stanozolol, the commissioner's office said Tuesday. Graybill had
a second positive test for a drug of abuse.
Hodgson, a right-hander from Nicaragua who signed in January and turned
17 on Sunday, is on the roster of the rookie-level Dominican Summer League
Braves.
Graybill, a right-hander who turns 23 next month, was drafted in the
ninth round last June and allowed six runs over three innings and five games
last year for the rookie-level Arizona League Giants.
There have been 32 suspensions this year for violations of the minor
league program.
