Peru Teen Program PERU MACHU PICCHU

MACHU PICCHU: INCA TRAIL AND TOUR

From the colonial city of Cuzco, we spend three days tracing the footsteps of the Incas to Machu Picchu. Our pace is moderate and our gear is transported by porters as we stop frequently at hot springs and local villages. The sense of accomplishment upon arriving at Machu Picchu, combined with breathtaking views of this ancient city, make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Hike the Lara Trail on Bold Earth's Peru teen trip.

LAKE TITICACA: ANDEAN CULTURE AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

High in the Andes, the Uru people have inhabited man-made islands crafted from reeds in the middle of Lake Titicaca. During our homestay on the islands, we build chimneys in the village’s thatched-roof huts to help with ventilation and village health. Our time on the Uros Islands offers an amazing opportunity for cultural exchange and community service. An amazing authentic experience on our Peru teen program.

AMAZON JUNGLE: COMMUNITY SERVICE AT WILDLIFE REFUGE

Surrounded by some of the most pristine primary rain forests in the world, we stay at a remote eco-lodge in the Amazon Jungle! From our lodge we explore the jungle by foot and canoe as we fish for piranha and look for monkeys, sloths and toucans. In addition, we spend two days working at a local wildlife refuge, helping to rehabilitate animals to be released into the wild.

LIMA: LEARN TO SURF AND EXPLORE THE CAPITAL

Having seen the mountains and jungles of Peru, our journey continues to the beach of Cerro Azul for two days of professionally guided surf lessons. The warm water, abundant sun and perfect waves create a great surf experience for beginners and more experienced surfers. Next, we head north to Lima, Peru’s metropolitan capital. We spend the last day of Bold Earth's Peru teen trip on a city tour seeing the beauty of colonial Lima and celebrating an amazing three weeks of adventure!
