Married actor who gagged British reports he slept with prostitute 'to be unmasked in America'

Amarried leading actor who gagged the British Press from reporting claims he had sex with a prostitute is set to be named in the US.

Helen Wood, a former £195-a-session call girl who once had a threesome with footballer Wayne Rooney, revealed in 2011 how she had sex with the "world famous" celebrity.

But the star cannot be named in Britain after he took out a High Court injunction to prevent the public from discovering he had cheated on his wife with the then 23-year-old.

However, according to reports, the celebrity is now to be identified by an American publication five years later.

It comes after another star at the centre of a celebrity threesome casewas last month named in a US magazine despite the British media being banned from reporting their identity. UK judges are still considering that case.

The existence of the star's gagging order was first disclosed by The Telegraph in 2011 when the media was banned from naming either party or reporting why the order had been sought.

The actor was described by Mr Justice King as “a world famous celebrity”.

He was granted a temporary injunction in a private hearing after he discovered Miss Wood had spoken to a tabloid newspaper, which he feared was about to print details of her allegations.

A High Court judge later ruled that Miss Wood could detail the nature of her allegations, but that the ban on naming the actor should remain in place.

Miss Wood later said the actor booked her through an escort agency under a false name.

She described in lurid detail their paid encounter. The pair went to dinner and he allegedly left without paying a tip.

In 2010, Miss Wood described how she and another prostitute, Jennifer Thompson, had taken part in a threesome with Rooney, the England and Manchester United striker.

The footballer paid the two women £1,000 cash for the sexual encounter in a five-star Manchester hotel.

Miss Wood said at the time that she had now given up working for an escort agency to concentrate on bringing up her son and go back to college.

After she described sleeping with Rooney, whose wife Coleen was five months pregnant at the time, Miss Wood’s father issued an apology for his daughter’s behaviour.
