Watch awesome fish pop its head out of the water to drink man's beer from a boat

This fish is more of a lad than you. That's a long time to be a fish out of water.

He was greeted by a friendly man, who offered his beverage to the fish.

The fish, in the video which was uploaded to YouTube, then hungrily gulped the beer, taking a whopping 20 mouthfuls before going back underwater to have a tipsy swim.

It really did drink like a fish. The creature even rested his fin on the boat while he took mouthfuls of the amber liquid.

The person who uploaded the video wrote in the caption: "In Brazil we'll give beer even to the fishes. Lol".

The question which arises from the video is - can fish drink alcohol? Apparently so. In 2014, researchers found fish can actually swim faster when they are drunk.

Maurizio Porfiri, an associate professor at the New York University Polytechnic Institute of Engineering, subjected shoals of fish to varying amounts of alcohol.

Drunk fish became faster swimmers, more aggressive and were less likely to be afraid of predators. Instead of ignoring their drunk friends, sober fish followed behind and copied the behaviour of the drunk ones.

Whether or not this is a good thing is up for debate, but the video is certainly very funny - and the fish seems to enjoy the beer.
